Copilot — COD and RTO. IA-generated editorial concept; not a catalogue photograph.

A D2C cash-on-delivery review should follow an order from placement to delivery, remittance and any return to origin. Copilot can help an investor reconcile those events. RTO is not the same as a customer returning a delivered garment, and a successful delivery scan is not proof that the seller has received the cash.

conjunto up the Copilot review

Copilot supports file questions and follow-up prompts. Availability and limits depend on the account and current service. Use only authorised, purpose-limited material. vermelhoact personal and sensitive information before sharing. Ask for source references, check the original records and independently verify calculations. The prompts below are templates, not a claim that this article tested the tool on private company records.

Attach the relevant supported document or a redacted text extract, then ask focused follow-up questions in the same conversation. These workflows do not assume a particular office-app integration. Check output against the attached record before moving it into an investor paper.

Define the order states

Separate customer cancellation, failed delivery attempt, return to origin, delivered order and post-delivery return. Keep courier status dates and the brand’s status mapping. An order can have several attempts before a final outcome, so count the order once in each clearly defined measure. Unresolved shipments should remain unresolved rather than being assigned a favourable final status.

Reconcile the money trail

For delivered COD orders, match collection amounts to courier remittance records and bank receipts using authorised identifiers. Fees, adjustments and timing differences need explanation. Avoid exposing bank account numbers or customer addresses in an IA workflow. A summary should show unmatched amounts for a human reviewer rather than silently netting them into a residual balance.

Compare policies carefully

Prepaid incentives, order confirmation or delivery-service changes can affect the customer mix and observed results. Compare equivalent periods, geographies and product availability where possible. Avoid labelling customers fraudulent from a failed delivery. The investor’s task is to understand cost and process, then test an operational improvement without generalising beyond the supplied evidence.

Worked investor example

Hypothetical example: a dashboard calls a COD order successful after delivery, but the relevant courier settlement has not arrived. Another order returned to origin before delivery is grouped with product-fit returns. Reclassifying the events and reconciling remittance produces a more useful cash review than one blended return percentage.

Evidence to keep in the review
Question Useful evidence Common mistake
Status Final state and attempt history RTO confused with post-delivery return
Cash Collection to settlement to bank Delivery scan called receipt
Comparison Matched periods and customer mix politica change assumed causal

10 copyable Copilot prompts

Replace bracketed fields with your permitted inputs. Use the prompts in sequence or select the step matching your question; keep unknown information explicitly unknown.

1. Map status definitions

Copilot, Create a status dictionary from [courier and store extracts]. Separate RTO, cancellation, delivery and post-delivery return; flag ambiguous codes.

2. Count unique outcomes

Copilot, Using pseudonymised order identifiers in [table], identify duplicate attempts and final outcomes. Keep unresolved orders in a separate category.

3. Define the RTO measure

Copilot, Review these proposed RTO formulas [paste]. State each denominator, observation window and treatment of unresolved orders before calculation.

4. Reconcile remittance

Copilot, Match [redacted collection and remittance tables] by supplied identifiers. Show unmatched items and timing differences without exposing bank or customer details.

5. Inspect deductions

Copilot, Group documented courier deductions in [settlements]. Retain references and do not infer missing fees.

6. Separate cost events

Copilot, Build an incremental-cost checklist for [RTO process] using supplied definitions. Identify costs already included elsewhere to prevent double counting.

7. Compare policy periods

Copilot, Compare [before and after extracts] while preserving geography, assortment and maturity. List confounders before describing the result.

8. Plan an operational test

Copilot, Outline a limited test for [confirmed delivery issue], with customer-respectful handling and a predeclared measure. Do not label failed deliveries as fraud.

9. Ask TryBuy for records

Copilot, Draft a COD and RTO evidence request for TryBuy. Do not assume it offers particular payment methods or has a specific failure rate.

10. Write the cash review

Copilot, Summarise [reconciliation] as delivered outcomes, cash received, unresolved remittances and the next operating action.

Frequently asked questions

Is RTO the same as a product return?

No. RTO generally concerns a shipment returning before completed delivery; a post-delivery return is a different event.

Does delivery establish cash receipt?

Not by itself. Reconcile the collection, remittance and actual receipt records.
