NotebookLM Fashion Shopping Prompts: Build a Source-Backed Product Notebook
Create a NotebookLM notebook from product pages, size information and applicable merchant terms you can lawfully supply. Ask source-specific questions, inspect the citations and recheck changeable details on the live retailer pages before buying.

A shortlist often becomes a pile of tabs: one contains fabric wording, another a size chart and another the return conditions. A source notebook can organise that evidence without pretending it is a shopping cart. The goal is a traceable decision record, not a recommendation assembled from unlabelled scraps.
Keep each product and each source identifiable
Google describes NotebookLM as grounded in supplied sources and supports website sources and citations. That is a reason to inspect the underlying passages, not to skip them. Name records with merchant, style identifier, variant and date captured. Do not upload receipts, account screens or other unnecessary personal information for a pre-purchase comparison.
Eight copyable NotebookLM prompts
Replace the bracketed fields with your own information and run the prompts one at a time. These are suggested workflows, not reported platform tests. Do not share payment details, passwords or unnecessary personal data. When a source cannot be accessed, supply relevant text and keep the access limitation visible.
1. Create a source inventory
From the sources in this notebook, list each document’s merchant, product identifier, variant, source type and stated or recorded capture date. Mark absent details unknown. Separate a product page, size chart, policy and independent review instead of merging them.
2. Build a product evidence table
Using only the selected sources, create one row per exact product. Include category, seller-listed fabric, colour, sleeves, package contents and a citation for each fact. Do not borrow a specification from a similar style or fill a blank from general knowledge.
3. Keep size charts attached to the correct item
Match each size chart to the product it explicitly covers. Preserve the original units and whether measurements refer to the body or garment. Flag an unclear association rather than applying a generic chart to every item.
4. Answer a narrow question with a citation
For [style identifier], what does the source say about [one feature]? Give a short answer with the supporting citation. If the source does not answer it, say so. Do not turn a plausible visual inference into a sourced fact.
5. Reveal conflicting sources
Find contradictions between the selected product and policy records. Show the competing wording with citations and explain the unresolved issue. Do not choose a convenient version merely because it supports my preferred purchase.
6. List the questions still unanswered
Compare my requirements [list] with the available evidence. Produce the smallest useful set of seller questions, linked to the missing information. Avoid asking again for details that are already clearly documented.
7. Identify what can go stale
Mark which entries need a fresh merchant-page check before checkout, such as variant availability, price, offers or terms. Distinguish the date of a saved source from the date a live page was actually checked. Do not describe saved information as live.
8. Export a human-readable purchase brief
Create a concise brief for [selected item] containing confirmed facts with citations, unresolved questions and the original product URL. Do not place an order or imply this notebook is connected to the retailer’s stock, payment or checkout systems.
